Introduction<\/h2>\n

Rome is preparing to experience one of the most exciting evenings of its music season:

A unique opportunity to hear live some of the masterpieces of the great American composer George Gershwin, masterfully revisited by an excellent ensemble: Riccardo Fassi (piano and keyboards), Mimma Pisto (voice), Steve Cantarano (bass), and Carlo Battisti (drums).<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

From \u201cPorgy and Bess\u201d to Gershwin\u2019s greatest hits<\/h3>\n

The program offers a refined selection of pieces from Porgy and Bess<\/em> \u2013 including Summertime<\/strong>, Bess, You Is My Woman<\/strong>, Gone, Gone, Gone<\/strong>, I Love You Porgy<\/strong>, Ain\u2019t Necessarily So<\/strong>, and There\u2019s a Boat That\u2019s Leaving Soon for New York<\/strong> \u2013 alongside other famous hits of the maestro.<\/p>\n

The original arrangements by Riccardo Fassi give new light to these compositions, preserving the beauty of traditional jazz while offering fresh and personal nuances.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The musicians<\/h2>\n

Riccardo Fassi<\/h3>\n

Pianist, keyboardist, and composer, among the most appreciated in Italian jazz. Winner of the Jazzit Awards 2017, 2018, and 2019, he has collaborated with giants like Steve Lacy, Kenny Wheeler, Enrico Rava, and Billy Cobham. He is Director of the Jazz Department at the Florence Conservatory and leader of the Tankio Band.<\/p>\n

Mimma Pisto<\/h3>\n

Vocalist with an unmistakable style, able to blend soul, jazz, and emotional intensity. She has collaborated with Mario Biondi, Dario Deidda, Massimo Pirone, and participated in Rai productions.<\/p>\n

Steve Cantarano<\/h3>\n

Highly experienced double bassist, active with the Tankio Band and collaborating with names such as Paolo Fresu, Enrico Pieranunzi, and Gary Bartz.<\/p>\n

Carlo Battisti<\/h3>\n

Versatile and refined drummer, with a long career in the best Italian and international jazz contexts.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
